Based in Montrose and Hong Kong, John oversees portfolio companies in real estate, agriculture, consulting, wealth management, fintech, and hospitality. As Typhoon Chase co-founder, John fuses global networks and regional heritage to scale enduring assets.

DIRECTOR, REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT

Chase brings nearly a decade of experience across real estate development, investment, and project management spanning hospitality, retail, office, medical, multifamily, single-family, affordable housing, and resort assets. He currently serves as Director of Real Estate Development at Chase Merritt, where he leads complex ground-up and redevelopment initiatives across the Mountain West. Before joining Chase Merritt, Chase worked for the largest affordable housing developer in California and has delivered projects in California, Utah, and Colorado—navigating some of the most demanding regulatory environments in the country.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Derek has over 20 years of real estate experience, including 10 years with Hines, most recently as Director. He helped open the firm’s Shenzhen office, contributed to launching its APAC logistics platform, and worked on transactions totaling more than $1.5 billion across hospitality, retail, industrial, office, and mixed-use projects. A University of Michigan graduate, Derek lived and worked abroad for 16 years, leading cross-border projects in Mandarin, with a focus on disciplined investment execution and team collaboration.

DIRECTOR, ACQUISITIONS & ASSET MANAGEMENT

Sirius brings 10+ years of experience in institutional real estate capital markets and asset & fund management across U.S. and Asia, most recently at The Blackstone Group overseeing a $5B portfolio of luxury resorts in the Maldives and logistics assets in China. Prior to Blackstone, Sirius worked at Cushman & Wakefield in Washington D.C. where he executed $2B commercial real estate transactions. Sirius received his B.A. in Mathematics from Gettysburg College and M.S in Real Estate Development from Columbia University.
